Arrin Dutton

College planning consultant

Arrin joined Advantage College Planning after working in various leadership roles within high school admissions offices. Arrin was a college counselor for six years at an independent day and boarding school. She has read applications for UNC-Chapel Hill Admissions Office, The Morehead-Cain Scholarship Foundation, and the Hesburgh-Yusko Scholarship Foundation through the University of Notre Dame. For the past nine years, Arrin has served as Director of Admissions at a Pre-K-8th grade school while continuing to serve high school students and parents through her independent counseling service.

With a Master’s Degree in Counseling, Arrin loves working with students to help them find their voice and passion throughout the college application process. Arrin’s empathy and counseling background enable her to work well with students to find and promote their individuality. Having recently counseled her oldest son through the college application process, she knows first-hand how daunting it can be for parents. Arrin's experience and knowledge help parents feel more comfortable and at ease.

Arrin’s proudest accomplishment is her three teenage sons. She lives in Raleigh with her husband Matt, her boys, and her dog Bella. An avid reader, Arrin loves a good book and has been part of the same book club for over 20 years. She and her husband love traveling, playing golf, and spending time with family and friends. In her spare time, Arrin practices yoga, is a board member of the Leesville Road PTSA, and serves her church community.
